WHAT IS HEALTHWATCH SWINDON?
Healthwatch Swindon has been set up as required by the health and social care act 2012. It is a new independent organisation which champions the voice of the people on health and social care services.

Healthwatch gives people a powerful voice locally and nationally. At a local level, Healthwatch Swindon works to help local people get the best out of local health and social care services. Whether it’s improving them today or helping to shape them for tomorrow.

Healthwatch Swindon is all about local voices being able to influence the design and delivery of local services. Not just for people who use them now, but anyone who might need to in future.

OUR WORK INCLUDES:
Gathering and representing the views and experiences of the people of Swindon on the way services are delivered and influence how services are commissioned by having a seat on the local Health & Wellbeing board.

Through Advocacy, offering a free, confidential and impartial service to those people living in Swindon who need support through the NHS complaints procedure.

Signposting people to appropriate health and social care services to help them make informed choices, including information about hospitals, GPs, dentists and urgent care. But it’s not just limited to NHS information. Information about other services including:
Long term conditions
Support for carers
Mental health
Cancer
Young people
Learning disabilities
Independent living

Working with community groups and other service providers to raise awareness and to publicise the latest NEWS and EVENTS through the website: www.healthwatchswindon.org.uk

WHY ADD YOUR VOICE?
As well as building great relationships with voluntary groups, committees and organisations, including:
Care Clinical Commissioning Group
Quality Surveillance Group
Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee
Health and Wellbeing Board
Healthwatch England

YOUR HEALTH – YOUR CARE – YOUR SAY

WHY HEALTHWATCH SWINDON NEEDS YOU!
Healthwatch Swindon works hard to collect and analyse the views, opinions and recommendations of the whole community: young, old, women, men, and the cared for. People from all cultures and backgrounds, people of all abilities, people in work and those seeking work.

As a small staff team we cannot achieve this on our own and need the support and involvement of volunteers to help engage with the public and give support. We need help in our office too!

As well as capturing your experiences and opinions, you may also have the knowledge, skills, abilities and interests that could help Healthwatch Swindon achieve its aim of improving the health & wellbeing of our community.

SO MUCH TO DO – SO MUCH TO SAY

Healthwatch Swindon will only function properly with the involvement of local people, groups and charity organisations. This is where you come in:

We want to hear from you if:
We can help you in anyway.
You have an experience or comment you wish to share.
You feel you can help us in anyway.
You want to be kept updated through our e-bulletin.

It might be all four but even if you are unsure if we can help you or you require further information, contact us or come in for a chat.
