Anyone that knows me knows how much I love getting out on the hills, any excuse to get my Hiking Boots on! So check out the HI-TEC walks below and I may see you out on a hill some time soon…

The most of the glorious spring weather this year by pulling on those walking boots and heading to the North of England for an enjoyable spring walk. Here are three great walks to provide you with some inspiration.

The Norber Erratics, Yorkshire

Possibly the best example of the stunning Yorkshire Dales landscape is the Norber Erratics. This stunning walk covers around 6 miles and takes in some of the most striking areas of the Yorkshire Dales National Park including ‘The Erratics’, a series of randomly placed boulders deposited by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Start from the beautiful village of Austwick and, as well as the Norber Erratics, you’ll see limestone crags, meltwater ravines and one of the dales’ most famous show caves. Then relax after a hard days trek by enjoying a cuppa in one of the many nearby tearooms.

Embleton Bay, Northumberland

This scenic coastal walk is slightly longer at around 7 miles and takes in the sites of Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton Bay and the Newton Pool nature reserve. Along the way you’ll see pebbled beaches, sweeping dunes, an impressive lava outcrop and, if you lucky, even the odd basking seal – all with the stunning Dunstanburgh Castle providing an impressive backdrop to your journey. Don’t miss the delightful Ship Inn along the way which serves its own home-brew beer along with locally caught fresh lobster – the perfect reward for a day out walking.

Fleetwith Pike, Lake District

This spring walk starts from shores of Buttermere one of the Lake Districts most beautiful lakes. Although less than 6 miles long, this testing spring walk does include a climb up Fleetwith Pike, but your efforts will be well rewarded thanks to stunning views once you reach the summit. Although this walk includes steep climbs, rocky mountain paths and notoriously changeable weather conditions don’t let this put you off, just make sure you well equipped with water, a map and good pair of walking boots.
