Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Vitamine B1 is needed for the release of energy from food, Thiamine is the most unstable of all the B Complex family and is essential for digestion, the nervous system and helping us cope better with stress.  When deficient in B1 people notice tiredness, nausia, loss of appitite, irritability and depression.

Extreme low levels of B1 in your diet leads to Beriberi Disease, common in 3rd world countries.

Functions:

Essential for converting carbohydrate into energy, maintenance of a healthy nervous system, brain and heart.

Sources:

Cereal grains, oatmeal, flax and sunflower seeds, brown rice, whole grain rye, asparagus, spinach, green peas, kale, cauliflower, potatoes, oranges, liver (beef, pork & chicken), doy milk and eggs.
