So the ultra season is well under way with numerous events taking place up and down the country. It was great to see so many of you at the Centurion Running Thames Path 100 the other weekend and congratulations to all of you for completing such a gruelling event under some very testing conditions, it was inspirational to see!

After the huge success of the Pilgrim Challenge last month, we are looking forward to welcoming you to one of our events over the next few months.


The Ridgeway 200

31stMarch & 1st April

The first ever Extreme Energy ultra endurance mountain bike event. A 200km 2 day ride along the tough and relentless Ridgeway National Path! It has clearly interested the endurance community because the uptake has been staggering and will kick off a new era for Extreme Energy in some style!

The Pony Express 2012

5th& 6th May

The second race in the Hi-Tec Ultra Trail Series. A 60 mile trail run over 2 days through the New Forest National Park. New for 2012 the race has been awarded 1 qualifying point towards the UTMB 2013!

The Fan Dance 2012


A gruelling 15 mile fell/trail run up and down the highest peak in South Wales! Pen Y Fan stands at 2,907 ft above sea level. This event will push you to the limits of both physical and mental endurance!

Round The Island 2012

30thJune & 1st July

The third race in the Hi-Tec Ultra Trail Series. A 70 mile trail run over 2 days around the Isle Of Wight, following the coastal path. Held on the same weekend as the Round The Island sailing race, the weekend is fantastic. This race is one of the most popular in the series and is guaranteed to sell out. This event comes with 2 qualifying towards the UTMB 2013!

With all these events lined up, it promises to be a very exciting couple of months.

Please remember that if you complete 2 out of The Pilgrim Challenge, The Pony Express Ultra or Round The Island Challenge then your name shall automatically go into a prize draw for a free place into The Centurion Running North Downs Way 50 or 100. This prize draw shall take place on the final day of the Round The Island Challenge.

In regards to the other prize draw taking place in 2012, to enter all you have to do is complete 3 out of the 5 Hi-Tec Ultra Trail Series Races in 2012 and your name will go into the draw for a special prize of a free entry into The Kalaharis Augrabies Ultra Marathon – worth over £1,000. The draw shall be made on the final day of The Druid Challenge.

Also for everyone who completes 3 out of the 5 Hi-Tec Ultra Trail Series Races in 2012, they will receive a brand new limited edition Buff!

Now for some very exciting news indeed, Extreme Energy are teaming up with Centurion Running in 2012 to put on a 7 point qualifying package for the UTMB in 2013. Including the following races – Round The Island Challenge [2 points], North Downs Way 100 [4 points] and The Druid Challenge [1 point]. Meaning you can now get all the points needed to qualify for the UTMB 2013 and save money in doing so. To find out further information then please click on the link below.


For those of you looking for that extra training for those bigger races such as the UTMB. Extreme Energy are organising an Extreme Energy“Club Event”(which basically means it is not an official Extreme Energy event and we are not looking to make any money on the week, just get a bunch of like minded people together). Dates are now set at 14thJuly – 21st July. The location – The Alps! Yes a 7 day training camp in the Alps.
