Worlds First Ever Rollercoaster at Sea

Carnival Cruise, are set to build the worlds first ever at sea rollercoaster, with its debut in 2020 upon the ‘Mardi Gras’.  The rollercoaster named ‘Bolt’ will aim to give cruise passengers the ultimate rush at sea, hitting speeds of 40mph over 800metres of twists & turns around and above the ship.  The ride to be built by German company Maurer Rides will be an electric two seater motorbike style vehicle which will travel along the track hitting highs of 187ft above sea level, with 360degree views.  

Christine Duffy (President of Carnival Cruise Line) said “Mardi Gras will be our most innovative ship ever with some truly special features and attractions, highlighted by Bolt, the first ever rollercoaster at sea”.  

Duffy went on to say “Bolt will continue the tradition of Carnival providing exciting new ways for our guests to choose fun.  We are so thrilled to introduce this one-of-a-kind, game changing, exhilarating attraction, our guests are going to love it”.
