Looking through the fitness apps on my iPhone, I came across this app and thought Id try it out for a bit of fun and to see if its an app that people could actually use to help get fit and active… 

It is primarily a walking app but you could use it for running but there are many more running apps out there that would work better.  This app is a bit of fun at the same time as helping you get out and go walking, so for someone that is very sedentary this is the app for them.

It works as a GPS and if you go to the Star Map section, you will apear as a blue dot on a map, around you there will be various gold stars which you need to walk to and collect, along the way you will also pick up bonus points for walking certain distances and completing more than one challenge in a single day.

Its a great way to clock your steps and take a walk around your town, checking out the sites you might not have ever bothered to look at.

There are ways to set up team challenges where you can invite your facebook friends to use the app, to see who can collect the most stars in a day.  There are GPS scavenger hunts, calorie burn and distance tracking and much more…

And the App is FREE!!! Yes it is FREE… There is an upgrade available on this app which costs $2.99 but I didnt really find the need for it…

Why down load this App?

Walking is one of the easiest ways to exercise, especially for the very sedentary returning to exercise and it costs nothing to go for a walk in the freshair.  Walking is a good calorie burner, strengthens your cardiovascular system, lowers your blood pressure and walking just a few times a week can improve your brain function.

Finally Walking 20-40mins per day can add 5yrs to your life!
